During these three days, Zaragoza and Aragón are establishing themselves as one of the main technological hubs in southern Europe by hosting the third edition of The Wave 2026, the digital transformation and technology congress that has commenced its activities today at the Zaragoza Congress Palace.
With Japan as the guest of honor, The Wave 2026 has transformed the Aragonese capital into a meeting point for business leaders, experts, and international technology companies. The event, taking place from April 14 to 16, places Aragón on the European technological map as an innovation hub and a bridge between Europe and Asia.
The inaugural day started at 8:00 AM with the opening of the Planet Zero, Lunar Lab, Expo Horizon, and Nebula Lounge spaces. At 9:00 AM, the institutional welcome session took place, during which Mar Vaquero, Vice President of the Government of Aragón, emphasized the region’s commitment to positioning itself as a reference in technological innovation.
Throughout the day, high-level presentations took place on artificial intelligence, Agentic AI, business transformation, STEM talent, and mobility, featuring companies such as AWS, Microsoft, Porsche, Airbnb, and ESIC. The Japan Tech District, located within the Expo Horizon area, has seen significant attendance from the outset by showcasing leading Japanese solutions in robotics, semiconductors, sustainability, cybersecurity, and automation.
The Wave 2026 solidifies Zaragoza’s position as a temporary center for European technological innovation. The congress brings together over 250 speakers and is expected to attract more than 15,000 attendees over its three days, generating a notable economic impact and international visibility for Aragón.
With this edition, Zaragoza and Aragón demonstrate their capability to organize a top-level event that attracts talent and leading companies on a global scale, reinforcing the community’s role as a strategic enclave within the European technological ecosystem.
