The Government of Aragon and the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR) approved on July 9, 2025, an investment of 9.5 million euros for university infrastructure and equipment, highlighting its importance for educational and scientific development.
Investment Plan 2025
The joint commission, chaired by Claudia Pérez Forniés and Rosa Bolea Bailo, has allocated 8.5 million euros for various improvements and constructions within the university:
- 1.4 million euros for scientific equipment in research institutes.
- 1.1 million euros for the adaptation of the Children’s Residence in Huesca, designated for the Medical Degree.
- 2.5 million euros for the expansion of research buildings on the Río Ebro campus, to be executed between 2025 and 2026.
- 4 million euros for compliance with regulations, heritage preservation, and updating obsolete facilities.
- 1.5 million euros for improvements in research infrastructures on the campuses of Huesca, Zaragoza, and Teruel.
In addition, an additional funding of 1 million euros has been approved for the Open, Green, and Friendly University (AVA) program, which aims to promote sustainability and accessibility in the university environment.
Institutional and Legal Context
This meeting marks the first of the new UNIZAR management team, with the participation of vice-rectors from various areas, consolidating the commitment of both institutions to the Investment Plan 2022-2026 and the AVA model.
