Calatayud receives 1.8 million euros to modernize industrial areas

The General Director of Industrial Promotion and Innovation, Mar Paños, announced in Calatayud a call for aid from the Government of Aragon, endowed with 1.8 million euros, aimed at the modernization of industrial areas for 2025, focusing on improvements such as paving, security, and energy efficiency.

Eligible actions include the paving of roads and sidewalks, signage, the installation of perimeter fencing, security cameras, and the replacement of lighting with more efficient models. The funding covers between 50% and 70% of each project, with a base budget of 1.15 million euros, which can be increased to 1.8 million. Starting in 2025, beneficiaries may be both owners and managers of industrial areas.

The 2025 call will simplify bureaucratic procedures and the required documentation. Additionally, current expenses for the promotion of industrial estates and the hiring of security services will be included.

Examples of actions in 2024

Among the highlighted actions for 2024 are the expansion of the main road in the La Charluca Industrial Park in Calatayud, the improvement of lighting in Mosqueruela, and the renewal of pipelines in La Armentera in Monzón. Hydraulic installations in Entreviñas, Cariñena were also upgraded.

The deadline to apply for the aid is July 23, 2025. According to Mar Paños, these interventions aim to «improve the efficiency of industrial areas to attract new companies.»
