There, the Provincial Council of Zaragoza has created Veruela Estival, a program of free activities that combines heritage, art, and leisure for all audiences.
The monastery, founded in the 12th century, is one of the best-preserved Cistercian complexes in Spain. Its cloisters, church, and walls have witnessed centuries of history. Starting in 2024, the DPZ decided to revitalize it during the summer months with this cycle, which has been well received by both locals from Aragón and visitors from outside the region.

- Literature: tributes and activities related to authors connected with Veruela, such as Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.
All of this is available with free admission, although many activities have limited capacity, so it is advisable to arrive early or consult the schedule in advance.
More than just a festival
Veruela Estival serves as the perfect complement to the already established Festival Veruela Verano, which brings major concerts to the monastery’s church in August. Together, they create a continuous cultural offering throughout the summer that is helping to revitalize this monument and attract an audience to an area that deserves much more recognition.
