The Provincial Council of Zaragoza reaffirms its commitment to the eradication of all forms of violence against women and girls.
The Provincial Council of Zaragoza has reiterated its firm commitment to the elimination of any form of violence against women and girls, coinciding with the commemoration of November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
In an institutional statement, the provincial institution emphasizes that gender-based violence remains one of the most widespread and persistent violations of human rights, and calls for the joint involvement of administrations, organizations, and citizens to combat it. The text highlights the need to strengthen prevention, improve attention to victims, and ensure sufficient resources so that no woman is left unprotected.
The Council insists that public authorities have the responsibility to promote policies that foster real equality and dismantle the social structures that allow violence to persist. It also reminds that the fight against this scourge requires ongoing, cross-cutting, and coordinated efforts in areas such as education, social services, justice, health, and security.
The provincial institution also reaffirms its support for the associations and professionals who work daily with women in situations of violence, and encourages society as a whole to maintain an active attitude of rejection against any manifestation of abuse, whether physical, psychological, sexual, or economic.
With this declaration, the Provincial Council of Zaragoza renews its unequivocal commitment to continue advancing towards a territory free of violence against women and girls and to promote coexistence based on respect and equality.
