The Department of Employability, Research and Education has earmarked a sum of over one million euros to support the mobility of students who are studying university degrees or qualifying master’s degrees away from their usual place of residence.
A total of 1,308 university students from Aragon will receive mobility grants during the 2024-2025 academic year thanks to the Government of Aragon. This economic support is administered by the Department of Employment, Science and Universities and aims to cover transportation costs for those students who are pursuing on-site university studies in the Aragonese system while residing in municipalities other than that of their educational institutions.
The recently closed call for applications had a total budget of 1,100,000 euros and allowed an increase of 95 in the number of beneficiaries compared to the previous year. The amount of the scholarships varies according to the distance between the student’s residence and the university campus, being distributed as follows:
Between 20 and up to less than 40 kilometers costs 550 euros.
Between 40 and less than 100 kilometers, the cost is 750 euros.
Between one hundred and less than two hundred kilometers, the cost is nine hundred and fifty euros.
From two hundred kilometers and above, the cost is one thousand one hundred and fifty euros.
On top of that an additional 200 euros are granted in areas where communications are poor or when the Aragon Synthetic Index of Territorial Development (ISDT) shows a negative mobility factor.
The allocation of grants by province is as follows: 758 for students in Zaragoza, 324 in Huesca and 226 in Teruel. The complete register of the beneficiaries can be consulted in the Official Gazette of Aragon. https://www.boa.aragon.es/cgi-bin/EBOA/BRSCGI?CMD=VEROBJ&MLKOB=1370889401111
