Zaragoza is now home to Spain’s first Humanoid Robotics Training Center (CERH), launched by Grupo UB at the PLAZA Logistics Platform. The facility programs, trains, and adapts humanoid robots for use in industry, services, and the third sector.
Zaragoza opens center to train humanoid robots in real-world environments
The CERH works with AGIBOT robots from the X, A, D, G, and C series, integrated by Tekio Robotics. The center goes beyond showcasing the technology: it prepares the robots to meet each client’s specific needs and deploys them in real production and customer-service settings.
The robots are trained to navigate obstacles, conduct inspections, hold conversations with people, and serve customers in retail stores, tourist accommodations, and hospitality venues. They can also handle order picking, precision industrial assembly, cleaning, and entertainment tasks.
Grupo UB President Jesús Urbano showed the facilities to Aragón Regional Government Vice President Mar Vaquero, alongside Tekio Robotics CEO Pilar Escanero and AGIBOT’s European sales director, Simi Wang. The visit was also attended by business representatives, clusters, educational institutions, and stakeholders from the industrial and financial sectors.
Tekio Robotics expands AGIBOT distribution to Spain, Portugal, and Africa
Following the inauguration, Tekio Robotics signed a collaboration agreement making it AGIBOT’s master distributor for Spain, Portugal, and Africa. The company, part of Grupo UB, specializes in humanoid robotics and intelligent interaction for professional environments.
Urbano described the center’s opening as a step toward strengthening Aragón’s role in the design and custom computing of humanoid robots. He also said the machines are intended to facilitate tasks with a significant technological component and rapidly acquire new capabilities.
For her part, Simi Wang described the center’s opening as a milestone in the expansion of intelligent robotics and embodied artificial intelligence solutions in the Spanish market. Mar Vaquero said the facility adds to the technological activity attracting business projects to Aragón and stressed the need for human guidance and leadership in technological development.
