Rock & Blues Programmes a Diverse October with International Artists and the Launch of the Ninth Bourbon Festival
The Zaragoza venue Rock & Blues is presenting a diverse lineup for October, combining renowned names from the international scene with emerging projects and local bands. The month features genres ranging from blues to indie, including country, riot grrrl, jazz, and rock, alongside the kickoff of the ninth edition of the Bourbon Festival, which will bring eleven national and international artists over the course of a month.
The month begins on October 1 with Perrosky, a Chilean duo formed by brothers Alejandro and Álvaro Gómez, who have over 20 years of experience. The group will present their album «Dos Caminos,» consisting of 13 songs that explore blues and slow rock, as part of a tour that includes Madrid, Guadalajara, and Segovia in addition to Zaragoza.
The following days continue with Copacabana (October 2), a tribute to national indie pop, and El Roce de Platero (October 3), a Zaragoza quintet paying homage to Fito & Fitipaldis and Platero y Tú. The weekend will be completed with 4Bob Reggae on Saturday the 4th, specializing in Bob Marley’s B-sides.
Jazz and American Rock in the Second Week
On Sunday, October 5, the highlight will be a performance by Jamie Baum, an internationally recognized New York flutist and composer, accompanied by bassist Javier Moreno. Her quartet blends original compositions with improvisation and creative risk.
The lineup also includes Hippies & Cowboys on October 8, a Nashville band that offers southern rock, blues, and soul inspired by artists like Sam and Dave, Otis Redding, and The Rolling Stones. On Saturday, October 11, In Materia, a Zaragoza rock band formed in 2010 with three albums released and awards from the Aragón Music Awards, will perform.
Bourbon Festival and Featured Artists
The Bourbon Festival starts on October 23 with Robert Finley, a blues and soul singer and guitarist from Louisiana, discovered in 2015 by the Music Maker Relief Foundation. Finley, who has released albums alongside Dan Auerbach and participated in America’s Got Talent, has become a figure of contemporary blues.
Other prominent names at the festival include Caleb Caudle and Horsebath (October 24), Arnau and The Honky Tonk Losers (October 25), and Carolyn Wonderland (October 31), a singer and guitarist from Houston compared to legends like Janis Joplin and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
The programming includes acts such as Vulvarine (October 30), an Austrian rock and riot grrrl band that mixes punk, metal, and high-energy rock with feminist lyrics, as well as events like the Ida y Vuelta Festival (October 28), a musical exchange between Aragón and Aquitaine.
Tickets can be purchased on the venue’s website for prices ranging from 10 to 25 euros, with some concerts offering free access. Media contact is Laura Latorre (laura@haikucomunicacion.com / 676 870 314).
