Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza will hold a new edition of Hospitalidad from September 28 to October 2, 2026, a program that will open five hotels in Zaragoza and Ejea de los Caballeros to elementary school pupils and vocational training students. The visits will showcase how a hotel operates and the educational and career opportunities associated with the sector.
Hospitalidad 2026 opens five hotels in Zaragoza and Ejea to elementary and vocational students
The program will take place at the Hotel Oriente, Hotel ILUNION Romareda, Hotel Reina Petronila, Hotel Ciudad de Ejea and Don Jaime 54. Over five consecutive days, groups will follow a guest’s journey from arrival to departure and observe the coordination among the services involved in a hotel stay.
Participants will include first- and second-grade pupils from Colegio Sagrada Familia de Zaragoza, fifth- and sixth-grade students from Colegio Hermanas Mercedarias de Ejea, and students in the first and second years of the Accommodation program at IES Miralbueno. The program combines guided tours with hands-on activities within the hotels.
The schedule will begin on Monday, September 28, at Hotel Oriente, with two sessions from 10:00 a.m. for students from IES Miralbueno. On Tuesday the 29th, Hotel ILUNION will welcome pupils from Colegio Sagrada Familia for sessions at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.; on Wednesday the 30th, Hotel Reina Petronila will host further sessions for vocational training students beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The activity will move on Thursday, October 1, to Ejea de los Caballeros, where Hotel Ciudad de Ejea will welcome students from Colegio Hermanas Mercedarias at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. The edition will conclude on Friday the 2nd at Don Jaime 54, with two visits at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. for first- and second-grade pupils from Colegio Sagrada Familia.
Schoolchildren will explore hospitality through the daily work of a hotel
The elementary school visits offer an introduction to hotels that differs from the usual experience of a guest or tourist. Students will tour areas including reception, guest rooms, the kitchen, dining room, storeroom and function rooms to learn about the tasks that support the day-to-day operation of a lodging establishment.
The itinerary is designed to provide a practical explanation of concepts such as welcoming guests, visitor service, teamwork and the service that the hospitality industry provides to guests and the city. The program focuses on the people and services that make a hotel stay possible.
According to the president of Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza, Antonio Presencio, the activities preserve the original spirit of Hospitalidad: offering a behind-the-scenes look at a tourist accommodation establishment and highlighting the work of those who make it possible. The planned activities will complement the tours by introducing participants to the establishments’ day-to-day tasks.
The University of Zaragoza’s School of Tourism joins Hospitalidad 2026
Students in the Accommodation program at IES Miralbueno will take part in sessions focused on gaining professional insight into the sector. They will be able to explore how hotels operate in practice, speak with professionals and learn about the different roles, responsibilities and career-development opportunities associated with hotel operations.
In a new development, the University of Zaragoza’s School of Tourism will take part in the sessions to present its academic offerings. Its participation will introduce students to options for continuing their education in tourism and hospitality.
Hospitalidad 2026 thus connects hotel establishments with educational institutions and specialized training, through activities aimed both at those discovering a hotel’s inner workings for the first time and at those who have already directed their studies toward tourist accommodation.
