Airtificial Intelligence Structures closed the first half of 2026 with net profit of €76,000, compared with a loss of €8.57 million in the same period of 2025. Operating profit (EBIT) reached €3.39 million, after a negative result of €4.20 million in the first half of the previous year.
The return to profit came despite a decline in consolidated revenue, which stood at €42.97 million, 6.81% below the €46.11 million reported in the first half of 2025. The company attributed the decline to its industrial transition and the phaseout of traditional support engineering activities. EBITDA was negative €4.14 million, compared with positive EBITDA of €978,000 a year earlier.
The accounts submitted to Spain’s National Securities Market Commission also reflect the impact of the €18.5 million sale of its engineering services contract portfolio. Airtificial carried out the divestment to reduce its debt and move forward with repaying public support from the Fund to Support the Solvency of Strategic Companies, managed by the State Industrial Holdings Company.
Defense and aerospace support profitability
The defense and aerospace division increased revenue by 6.16% to €15.37 million. The unit posted EBIT of €8.55 million, EBITDA of €224,000 and net profit of €8.02 million. These figures partly offset losses in other businesses, including the robotics division, which recorded a net loss of €6.14 million.
“Although the development of the defense market is progressing at a more gradual pace than expected, we are on the runway for the developments ahead. In addition, the aeronautics and infrastructure divisions are showing increasingly strong performance,” said Airtificial Chief Executive Guillermo Fernández de Peñaranda.
The group’s contract awards rose 115% during the half to €69.5 million, while its order backlog reached €168.9 million. The trend reflects the growing weight of defense and aviation, infrastructure and industrial automation activities, alongside the gradual exit from engineering services.
Industrial contracts
Among the company’s orders is a €16 million contract for Turkish Aerospace Industries’ Hürjet program. Airtificial has also begun work on initial orders for composite structural parts and test benches for Indra, stemming from the memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies.
The company has also signed a contract with Japan’s SkyDrive to manufacture structural components for its electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, designed for urban air mobility.
Airtificial closed 2025 with revenue of €93.99 million, down 14.6% from the previous year, negative EBITDA of €7.4 million and net losses of €25 million. In 2024, it posted a profit of €600,000 and positive EBITDA of €12 million, after losing €4.3 million in 2023.
