Saica’s Ana Fleta joins the Global Impact Officers 2026 selection

The The Officer 30 selection brings together professionals from companies of varying sizes, sectors, and spheres of influence. The list highlights professionals who coordinate policies related to sustainability, diversity and inclusion, ESG criteria, corporate governance, and equality, with the aim of expanding their economic, social, and environmental impact.

The initiative states that the selection is neither sponsored nor funded by any company. Other names included are Carmen Ponce Grass of Heineken España; Paloma Cabral of McDonalds; Lourdes Ripoll de Ollera of Meliá Hoteles; Estefanía Iglesias of Capsa; Eva Egido Delgado of FCC; and Fernando Riaño of Grupo Social ONCE.

Ana Fleta’s more than two-decade career at Saica

A chemistry graduate from the Universidad de Zaragoza, Ana Fleta has been with Saica since 2002. During her career with the group, she led its Iberia Health, Safety and Environment division and, since 2017, has been responsible for the company’s environmental projects.

Her inclusion on the list comes as Saica continues its work in areas including recycled paper manufacturing, waste management, and the production of corrugated cardboard and flexible packaging. Founded in Zaragoza in 1943, the company has more than 10,000 employees and operates in 11 countries.

El Burgo de Ebro is at the center of Saica’s decarbonization project

Saica is developing a comprehensive decarbonization project in El Burgo de Ebro, which the Government of Aragon has designated as being of regional interest. The initiative involves an investment of more than €100 million.

The group also works with Zaragoza City Council on the Bosque de los Zaragozanos. In 2024, Saica received the Cotizar Award for Best International Project.
