Aragón, Land of Culture will bring theater, music, and magic to Campo, Pinseque, and Singra this weekend, with three events featuring Aragonese companies and artists. The program includes one performance on Friday, October 30, and two activities on Sunday, November 1.
Teatro Che y Moche stages ‘El funeral’ in Campo
The community center in Campo will host a performance of El funeral by Teatro Che y Moche on Friday, October 30, at 7:00 p.m. The production combines music and theater in a celebration of life and of what it considers essential.
The plot begins when a group of Romani musicians invites the audience to the funeral of their grandfather, Dimitri. From that point on, the story takes unexpected turns. Teatro Che y Moche became a professional company in 1997, following five years in the university theater circuit, and has co-managed Zaragoza’s Teatro de las Esquinas since 2012.
Pinseque revives circus memories with ‘La Dignidad’
The Casa de Cultura in Pinseque will stage La Dignidad. Una historia verdadera, a production by El Gato Negro and Susana Martínez & Pai, on Sunday, November 1, at 6:30 p.m.
The play places audiences before a grand circus in decline. Otín and Ton, its only two survivors and former clowns, seek to keep alive the memory of those who vanished while conveying the emotion and beauty of their acts. Their story also evokes a time of peace and hope.
Singra joins a magical street parade
The sports hall in Singra will be the starting point for a magical street parade on Sunday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m., led by Helena Perdomo and Pepín Banzo, members of the El Sótano Mágico company.
The traveling show will tour the town’s streets with an event centered on fantasy and community participation. Organizers have encouraged attendees to come in costume or dressed in white.
The Aragón, Land of Culture initiative, promoted by the Government of Aragón’s directorates-general for Culture and Cultural Heritage, and Tourism, organizes artistic activities in towns and venues across the region featuring Aragonese artists.
