Corona de Aragón Joven to Be Official Wine of the 2026 Tapas Competition

Corona de Aragón Joven, from Grandes Vinos and the Cariñena Designation of Origin, will again serve as the official wine of the 31st Official Zaragoza and Province Tapas Competition, to be held from November 5 to 15, 2026. The event will bring together 171 bars and restaurants and will keep the price of tapas at €4.50, including an accompanying drink.

Corona de Aragón Joven to accompany tapas at 171 venues

Grandes Vinos and the Professional Association of Café and Bar Owners of Zaragoza and Province have renewed their collaboration agreement for this latest edition of the competition. Customers will be able to pair the culinary offerings with three Corona de Aragón Joven varieties: Garnacha Red, Garnacha Rosé and a White made from Macabeo and Chardonnay.

The competition will include venues in Zaragoza and other municipalities, including Cariñena, Cuarte and Cadrete. Participants may enter one or more tapas and will compete in categories decided by a professional jury, alongside awards selected by the public.

Public voting will determine the Most Popular Tapas, the venue with the Best Bar and the Best Service. The rules stipulate that venues must offer the competition’s official wine to be eligible for popularity-related awards.

Scratch cards, a food passport and Grandes Vinos visits for the public

Grandes Vinos will distribute a scratch card with the first 60,000 purchases made during the competition. Instant prizes include 50 winery visits for two people, including a tasting of two wines.

The event will also bring back its food passport. Consumers can collect stamps after visiting participating venues across different Zaragoza districts and redeem them for packs of the competition’s official wine.

The offering will also include Núbilo 0,0, Grandes Vinos’ nonalcoholic wine option. The product has been added to cater to those choosing alcohol-free alternatives.

Participating bars will be eligible to win a pallet of 300 bottles

Registered venues may enter a drawing for a pallet containing 300 bottles of the Corona de Aragón, Anayón and Núbilo brands. The drawing will be held during the closing gala, which will also announce the winners selected by the professional jury and through public voting.

The purchase of 10 cases of Corona de Aragón will entitle venues to one entry in the drawing. In addition, hospitality operators will receive a magnum bottle featuring the competition poster label and three vouchers to visit the winery, for six people selected by the owner.

Grandes Vinos is thus continuing its partnership with Zaragoza’s hospitality sector in a competition that the statement describes as Spain’s oldest. The winery also says it has served as the event’s official wine more often than any other producer.
