The Geoparque del Maestrazgo is adopting innovative 3D glasses technology to overcome barriers for individuals with reduced mobility or disabilities. This progressive step reflects a commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to appreciate the geopark’s rich natural and cultural landscape. The initiative enhances visitor experiences by allowing users to virtually explore the diverse geological and archaeological features without needing to physically access every site.

Covering 43 municipalities within Teruel, the Geoparque del Maestrazgo is recognized for its geological significance, featuring 67 Places of Geological Interest that are essential to its identity. Among its notable attractions are numerous monuments and archaeological sites, highlighting its cultural richness. It is also celebrated for its paleontological contributions, particularly the discovery of dinosaur fossils, some of which have led to the identification of new species. The Dinópolis complex, located in several municipalities including Galve, Castellote, and Mas de las Matas, plays a pivotal role in educating visitors about this aspect of the geopark’s heritage.

In addition to its geological importance, the geopark is a hub for cultural events, hosting traditional festivities such as the «Tamboradas,» which are recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. These elements together underscore the necessity of preserving and promoting the diverse heritage of the region.

The implementation of 3D technology at the Geoparque del Maestrazgo represents a significant milestone in inclusive tourism. By utilizing this inventive approach, the geopark is poised to attract a broader audience, ensuring that its unique offerings can be appreciated by all, regardless of physical limitations. This forward-thinking strategy not only supports accessibility in tourism but also contributes to the ongoing efforts in cultural preservation and education.
