Aragón will have 12 regional public holidays in 2027, all paid, non-recoverable and non-working days. The main change concerns the Assumption of the Virgin: the holiday will move to Monday, August 16, as August 15 falls on a Sunday.
Aragón sets 12 public holidays for 2027
The Government of Aragón has approved by decree the 2027 labor calendar for the entire autonomous community. It includes New Year’s Day, Epiphany, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, St. George’s Day, Labor Day, the rescheduled Assumption holiday, National Day, All Saints’ Day, Constitution Day, the Immaculate Conception and Christmas Day.
The 12 days will be paid, non-recoverable and non-working. The calendar includes April 23, the feast day of St. George and Aragón Day, which is recognized as a public holiday in the region.
The regional public holidays will be January 1, January 6, March 25, March 26, April 23, May 1, August 16, October 12, November 1, December 6, December 8 and December 25.
The Assumption holiday moves to Monday, August 16
The most significant change to Aragón’s 2027 labor calendar concerns the Feast of the Assumption. As August 15 falls on a Sunday, the public holiday will move to Monday, August 16.
The early approval of the calendar establishes the dates applicable to employment and business activity during the coming year, within the framework set by national labor legislation and Aragón’s Statute of Autonomy.
Municipalities may add two local public holidays
Municipalities in Aragón will complete their calendars with up to two local public holidays, proposed by each local council. Local authorities will have until October 15, 2026 to notify the dates.
The local holidays will subsequently be published in the Official Gazette of Aragón. In addition, all days included in the 2027 labor calendar will be non-working days for the purposes of calculating administrative deadlines in Aragón.
