Agriculture Approves €2 Million in Grants to Modernize the Wine Sector
The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food has approved a new call for grants aimed at promoting investments in the wine sector. The initiative has a budget of up to €2 million, financed through community funds, and is part of the Wine Sector Intervention Program (ISV) 2023-2027.
The grants will finance improvements in production and storage facilities, the acquisition of new machinery, software development, trademark registration, and energy-saving measures in sector industries. Wine companies, producer organizations, and associations in the wine sector will be eligible. The application period will extend until January 30, 2026.
This call is part of the department’s overall commitment to the wine sector, which will have a specific plan in 2025 with a budget of €9.8 million aimed at supporting, modernizing, and promoting Aragonese wine. The sector is the focus of the campaign «Aragón, Sabor de Verdad,» which boosts the visibility of wine at national and international fairs. The Protected Designations of Origin (DOP) and Protected Geographical Indications (IGP) of Aragon will solidify the image of wine as a competitive product with international personality.
Amparo Cuéllar, General Director of Innovation and Food Promotion, emphasized that this funding represents a fundamental tool for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector, highlighting the regional government’s commitment to accompany its modernization. Cuéllar stated that «Aragonese wine is synonymous with identity, quality, and talent» and affirmed their continued support for a sector that represents the best of Aragon both within and beyond its borders.
