The Industrial Design Laboratory of Aragón Collaborates with 26 SMEs in 2025

Third Edition of the Industrial Design Laboratory Works with 26 Aragonese SMEs

The third edition of the Industrial Design and Digitalization Laboratory of Aragon takes place in 2025, focusing on Ecodesign strategies. The program brings together 26 small and medium-sized enterprises from Aragon around 13 redesigns of products and services, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation.

The laboratory involves specialized design professionals from Aragon and their clients. The projects cover various sectors: an educational product, a commercial furniture procurement service, a board game, an agricultural monitoring service, and kitchen manufacturing processes. The program is financed by the Department of Presidency, Economy, and Justice of the Government of Aragon as part of the ARIES Initiative, executed by the Aragonese Council of Chambers, CEPYME Aragon, CEOE Aragon, and the Aragonese Center for Industrial Design (CADI).

Work began on October 28 with a guided support program led by a specialized consultant at the CEOE facilities. Knowledge and tools in ecodesign are conveyed through practical redesign case studies. The teams, made up of design professionals and representatives from SMEs, work both in guided sessions and in-office work. The process concludes with the construction of prototypes for solutions that integrate sustainability concepts.

The first phase ends on November 18. By the end of the month, the solutions will be materialized through tested prototypes. Each team must achieve a viable prototype in terms of economic feasibility, usability, technical performance, and environmental impact that addresses a current challenge for the company. The solutions can be implemented independently or with assistance from CADI or other measures.

Mar Paños, General Director of Industrial Promotion and Innovation, emphasizes the importance of project evolution in pursuing the growth of our economic and business fabric, highlighting that the initiative strengthens the competitiveness of design services and meets the needs of Aragonese SMEs.
