Jury Defines Winners of the I Agro-Food Awards of Aragon
The jury of the I Agro-Food Awards of Aragon met to determine the winners of this first edition, which recognizes excellence, tradition, and innovation in the agro-food sector in the region. The list of awardees will be published in the Official Bulletin of Aragon on September 9.
The award ceremony will take place on September 9 at the Palacio de La Alfranca (Zaragoza), coinciding with World Agriculture Day and as part of the Aragon Agro-Food Action Plan 2025–2028. This marks the first time that the Government of Aragon is promoting specific awards for the agro-food industry, aiming to showcase its support for one of the main economic drivers of the region, which is key to employment, exports, and territorial cohesion.
Award Categories
The awards consist of six categories:
- Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Award for Content Creation and Dissemination
- Award for Food Research
- Award for Sustainable Ecological Initiative
- Award for Artisan Food Business
- Special Award for the sector
Representatives from social agents, businesses, and the agro-food sector, as well as members of the regional government, will participate in the ceremony.
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, Javier Rincón, emphasized that «these awards are here to stay: we want to recognize those who, from the Aragonese agro-industry, are exemplars of innovation, tradition, and future.» Rincón added that «we want to give visibility to those transforming the sector from within: both small and large companies that innovate, maintain tradition, and generate employment in our region. Recognizing their efforts is also recognizing the future of Aragon.»
Complementary Technical Session
In the context of the I Agro-Food Awards of Aragon, a session titled «Challenges and Opportunities of the Aragonese Agro-Food Sector» will be held in the same venue at the Palacio de La Alfranca. The program will include a presentation on the key aspects of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), delivered by the Director of European Affairs at Vinces Consulting, Patricia Círez, as well as a roundtable discussion focused on the main agro-food challenges facing the region, featuring representatives and specialists from the sector.
