The Government of Aragon has allocated a total of 15,297.31 euros to support the organization of educational olympiads and other initiatives that highlight academic performance in the region. This measure underscores the commitment of the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports to promote talent and student participation in activities that foster scientific, humanities, and technological vocations.
Distribution of Grants
The funds have been distributed among non-profit organizations and the University of Zaragoza. Non-profit organizations will receive a total of 11,447.06 euros, while the University of Zaragoza has been assigned 3,850.25 euros. This distribution aims to support both independent organizations and academic institutions in promoting educational competencies.
Competitions and Benefited Activities
The grants will fund various academic competitions in Aragon. Among the initiatives of the non-profit organizations are the LXI Spanish Mathematical Olympiad in Aragon organized by the Mathematical Talent Workshop Association of Aragon, the XXXVIII Chemistry Olympiad of Aragon 2025 from the College of Doctors and Graduates in Chemical Sciences, the 33rd Aragonese Mathematical Olympiad from the Aragonese Society of Mathematics Teachers, the 36th Aragonese Physics Olympiad from the Royal Spanish Society of Physics, the XII Philosophy Olympiad of Aragon from the Aragonese Society of Philosophy, and the IV Aragonese Computer Science Olympiad from the Professional College of Technical Engineers in Computer Science of Aragon.
For its part, the University of Zaragoza will organize the XVI Aragonese Economics Olympiad and the XVI Aragonese Geology Olympiad, both coordinated by the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Sciences. Additionally, the 11th School Crystallization Contest and the ‘Have Fun with Statistics’ contest will be held, both promoted by the Faculty of Sciences.
