Plaza del Pilar became a major open-air runway on Sunday, bringing the eighth edition of Aragón Fashion Week to a close. Street Fashion Day brought fashion to one of Zaragoza’s most recognizable landmarks, introducing the public to the work of established brands, emerging designers and young creators after a week of runway shows and professional activities.
Among the participants was X&M Collection, the Zaragoza-based label founded by Xiu Mian, which presented its designs before the audience gathered in Plaza del Pilar. For the brand, showing in this setting also carried particular symbolic significance because of its ties to Aragón and to a city where it has built its career in the fashion industry.
X&M Collection specializes in eveningwear and formalwear, and was founded in Zaragoza with a focus on women’s fashion design. Its participation in Aragón Fashion Week added to the program a label with commercial experience both within and outside Spain, while retaining its business roots in the region.
After the show, the company itself highlighted the significance of taking part in the event alongside its clients and team, and thanked them for the support received throughout its journey. Beyond the presence of any one brand, its participation illustrated one of the elements Aragón Fashion Week aims to strengthen: raising the profile of companies and professionals working in fashion from Aragón.
The event concluded a program held from September 21 to 27 under the slogan “More Than Fashion”, featuring different venues and formats designed to showcase the sector’s diversity. Choosing Plaza del Pilar for the final day also made it possible to take the collections beyond professional runways and present them in a public urban space.
A week of new designers and established brands
The street finale followed several days of programming across different venues in Zaragoza. The Congress Palace hosted a large share of Friday’s and Saturday’s activities, featuring proposals from emerging designers, design schools and established brands. YolanCris’s participation was one of the main highlights of Saturday’s program, bringing a Spanish label with an international presence into the lineup.
Aragón Fashion Week is organized by the Federation of Textile and Garment Industries of Aragón (FITCA), which positions the event as a space where fashion’s creative and business dimensions can coexist. In its eighth edition, the program has sought to broaden its focus to include the different professionals, trades, companies and processes involved in textile and garment production.
That approach places the event beyond its aesthetic dimension. Aragón Fashion Week also aims to serve as a meeting point for those beginning their careers and the companies and professionals already active in the sector, while providing a showcase for work produced in Aragón.
Zaragoza Mayor Natalia Chueca, who attended Street Fashion Day, highlighted precisely that economic and creative dimension. «In Zaragoza and Aragón, we have talent, creativity and an industry with the capacity to grow and expand its reach,» she said during the event.
The 2026 edition thus combined runway and street, established designers and new generations, with the aim of giving visibility to the full range of activities surrounding fashion. Street Fashion Day completed that journey by bringing the collections and their creators into the public space, turning Plaza del Pilar into Aragón Fashion Week’s final stage for one morning.
