The Aragonese cuisine shone at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, standing out as a culinary reference. The Confederation of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of Aragon (CEHTA) organized an institutional meal that brought together industry experts, reinforcing the prestige of Aragon as a destination for culinary excellence.
Showcase of Aragonese Haute Cuisine
Four emblematic establishments participated in this prominent presentation. Among them were three Michelin-starred restaurants: La Prensa from Zaragoza, Casa Rubén from Huesca, and El Batán from Teruel, along with La Bastilla, a benchmark in the region. The chefs offered a reinterpretation of Aragonese products under the motto «Aragon, True Flavor,» fusing modern techniques with the rich local culinary tradition.
The proposal included iconic products such as black truffle, caviar from Sarrión, Teruel ham DOP, ternasco lamb from Aragon IGP, Calanda peach DOP, and borraja C’alial. These were accompanied by a selection of wines from Aragonese Designations of Origin, highlighting the diversity and quality of the region.
Media and Strategic Impact
The event received extensive media coverage, with the presence of outlets such as La Razón, Revista Traveling, Condé Nast Traveler, Hola! Viajes, and Guía Repsol, as well as influencers in specialized digital media. Among the attendees were Manuel Blasco, Councilor for Environment and Tourism; Jorge Moncada, General Director of Tourism and Hospitality; and Fernando Martín, President of CEHTA.
Fernando Martín emphasized the importance of these initiatives in showcasing the quality of Aragonese products and local talent, stating that «gastronomy is a strategic asset for tourism, for the economy, and for the image of Aragon as a destination.»
Economic Contribution of the Sector
CEHTA represents 16,000 companies in the tourism and hospitality sector in Aragon, contributing over 9% to the regional GDP and generating employment for more than 41,000 people. This event at FITUR 2026 not only reinforces the positioning of Aragon as a destination for culinary excellence but also highlights its economic and cultural relevance on a national and international scale.
