The Government of Aragon has launched the tender for the expansion of the Segeda Special Education Center in Calatayud, with an investment of 2.17 million euros. This project aims to respond to the increasing number of students and ensure an educational environment tailored to their needs, according to the design by architect Ignacio Grávalos Lacambra.
Details of the Expansion Project
The expansion of the CEE Segeda includes the construction of a new building that will almost double the current space of the center. The project features the addition of four classrooms, physiotherapy rooms, multisensory and psychomotor spaces, adapted restrooms, and a porch that will connect the two existing classroom buildings. Additionally, the shared playground with the Augusta Bílbilis early childhood and primary education school will be improved. The estimated timeframe for the construction works is 10 months.
This intervention is crucial for the center, which has seen a significant increase in its enrollment since its inception, rising from 28 to 52 students. The CEE Segeda offers Compulsory Basic Education (EBO), Training for Transition to Adult Life (FTVA), and Special Initial Qualification Programs (PCIE).
Tender and Participation Process
Companies interested in participating in this tender process have until March 4, at 2:00 PM, to submit their bids through the Public Sector Procurement Platform. The project design has been developed considering the needs of the teaching staff and its compatibility with the daily activities of the educational center.
The expansion of the CEE Segeda is a direct response to the sustained growth of the student body and a commitment to improving educational quality in a specialized environment. With this investment, it is expected that the center will continue to provide quality education tailored to the specific needs of its students.
