The Government of Aragón has taken a significant step in modernizing Vocational Training (FP) by selecting six innovative projects that will receive funding to integrate disruptive technologies into the educational field. With an investment of nearly 235,000 euros, these projects aim to transform FP through digitalization, involving 13 educational centers and 6 companies.
Cutting-edge Projects in Vocational Training
The selected projects cover a wide range of advanced technologies, from robotics and artificial intelligence to the Internet of Things and immersive simulation. Each initiative is designed to involve students at various levels, from basic to advanced courses, ensuring a comprehensive and practical education.
Among the highlighted projects is DOGBOT, which introduces quadruped robots with artificial intelligence in the social health sector. Coordinated by the Digital FP Campus, this project includes the participation of IES Avempace in Zaragoza and IES Leonardo de Chabacier in Calatayud.
Another project, CASTOR, focuses on designing a private artificial intelligence infrastructure for FP in Aragón. Also coordinated by the Digital Campus, it involves CPIFP Los Enlaces and CPIFP Montearagón.
Innovation Applied to Strategic Sectors
The Scenarios for Collaborative Robotics project seeks to create low-cost prototypes for the industry, under the coordination of IES Pedro Cerrada in Utebo. This effort includes collaboration from IES Gallicum, IES Virgen del Pilar, and the Digital FP Campus.
In the agricultural sector, the Automating Chicken Coop project applies IoT technologies to the breeding of native chicken breeds from Aragón. This project is coordinated by CPIFP Movera and collaborates with IES Reyes Católicos in Ejea de los Caballeros.
Additionally, Intelligent Vehicle Diagnosis develops a challenge-based methodology using IoT and Arduino, coordinated by IES Sierra de Guara in Huesca and IES CPIFP Bajo Aragón in Alcañiz.
Collaboration and Institutional Support
The Innovation Center for Vocational Training (CIFPA) plays a crucial role in the technical and educational support of these projects. Furthermore, leading companies such as SARGA, Teradyne Robotics, and Kampal Data Solutions actively collaborate, contributing their expertise and resources.
The General Director of Planning, Centers, and FP of the Government of Aragón, Luis Mallada, has emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that «Aragón reinforces its strategic commitment to innovative FP, connected with productive sectors and prepared to face the challenges of digital transformation.»
