More than 3,000 students in Aragón are taking the B1 certification tests from the Official Language Schools (EOI) this week. This process, part of the BRIT Aragón program, is carried out directly in educational centers, facilitating access to this official accreditation upon completing Compulsory Secondary Education.
High participation in B1 certification tests
In total, 3,053 students from 94 schools in Aragón are participating in these assessments. The tests are scheduled over two days: Tuesday was dedicated to French and German, while Thursday focuses on English, which has the highest number of participants. In numbers, 2,440 students are taking the English exam, 559 are taking French, and 54 are taking German.
The distribution of the tests within the educational centers underscores the Department of Education’s commitment to improving language skills and the internationalization of the educational system in Aragón.
Strengthening bilingualism in Aragón
The implementation of these tests not only facilitates the official certification of students but also reinforces the bilingual approach in Aragonese education. Aragón has recently been recognized by the British Council with an award highlighting its bilingual programs. The region has 54 bilingual centers associated with the BRIT Aragón program, positioning it as a leader in the implementation of this type of teaching.
The positive impact of these initiatives is reflected in the growing ability of students to communicate in multiple languages, a crucial aspect in an increasingly globalized world.
