The Aragonese cuisine once again showcases its remarkable storytelling ability. Bodega Pirineos –Grupo Barbadillo– has presented the second edition of “Dishes with Stories, Tell Me” in the Blue Room of the Casino of Huesca, an initiative that will transform the tables of 49 establishments across the three provinces into stages of memory, tradition, and identity until June 21.
This initiative celebrates the launch of the new 3.404 Barrica 2024, a wine that, according to the winery, needs to “hear stories” to reach its full maturity. And what better place for this than Aragonese restaurants, true guardians of the culinary memory of our land.
Each of the 49 participating establishments offers a signature dish accompanied by its own story: from the origin of the recipe, the inspiration of the chef, the ingredients used, to the family anecdotes that made it possible. It is not just about eating, but about listening while savoring. The serving staff will be responsible for sharing these stories, restoring the value of service and storytelling in the dining experience.
Aragonese Roots and Quality Products
The presented dishes are deeply rooted in local products. Jamón de Teruel DOP, Ternasco de Aragón IGP, Cebolla Fuentes de Ebro DOP, Cerdo de Teruel IGP, borage, asparagus, snails, pig’s trotters, cod, and garden vegetables are some of the main ingredients. From traditional offerings to more creative versions, all dishes share a common denominator: the defense of authentic Aragonese gastronomy.
The initiative is supported by the Government of Aragón through Aragón Sabor de Verdad, and is notable for its geographical balance: establishments in Huesca capital and province, Teruel capital and province, and Zaragoza capital and province.
Authorized Voices
Javier Fillat, marketing manager of Bodega Pirineos, highlighted the endearing nature of the initiative during the presentation:
“Wine has always been surrounded by the best stories over a glass; and if those stories are enjoyed alongside a good dish, all the better. This second edition allows us to remember and give value to both products and foods from Aragón, as well as to traditional or modern recipes.”
Meanwhile, Sergio Serra, deputy delegate of Tourism and External Projection of the Huesca Provincial Council, emphasized the cultural value of the project:
“We present much more than a gastronomic initiative. We present a way to understand the territory, the culture, and the identity of Aragón. Behind each dish, there is a story, family memories, tradition, innovation, and emotion.”
Parallel Activities
In addition to enjoying the dishes and their stories, diners can participate in a micro-story contest. Those who share their photographs on social media with the hashtags #PlatosconHistorias, @Bodegapirineos, and @Huescalamagia will enter a raffle for wine parcels. Additionally, 10,000 copies of the newspaper Pirineos Stories have been published, featuring all the stories which will be distributed in participating establishments, tourist offices, and the winery itself.
