Aratea Venture launches new kitchen furniture plant in Platea
The Aragón regional government’s minister of Economy, Competitiveness and Employment, Eva Valle, visited the newly built plant alongside the director general for Industry, Competitiveness, Innovation and Business Digital Transformation, Mar Paños. During the visit, Valle described the project as strategic for the city and Teruel’s industrial sector.
The factory completed construction of the facility and the first phase of machinery installation several months ago. Since June, it has been in the start-up and commissioning phase, a period focused on fine-tuning production processes and gradually expanding industrial operations.
The project has received €9,852,255.70 in regional incentives. According to Valle, Aratea’s arrival brings jobs, innovation and competitiveness to Teruel’s industrial sector.
Factory plans to expand to 200 workers in Teruel
The facility covers 37,000 square meters on a 145,000-square-meter site within the Platea logistics platform. The company already employs 90 plant operators and is continuing its recruitment process.
The company plans to gradually expand its workforce over the next 18 months, reaching 200 employees by the end of 2027. Its operations are linked to wood processing and home furnishings through the manufacture of flat-pack kitchen furniture.
Finsa and Adeo link Cella and Platea in the wood value chain
Aratea Venture S.L. is a company established by Grupo Finsa, which specializes in industrial wood processing, and Adeo, the French home-improvement group that owns brands including Leroy Merlin and Obramat. Both companies have had a presence in Aragón for decades.
The wood board used as a raw material comes from Finsa’s plant in Cella. The proximity of the Cella and Platea facilities strengthens the regional value chain, reduces supply-related travel and helps lower the carbon footprint associated with transporting materials.
The plant incorporates automation and systems to optimize the use of raw materials. It also uses wood certified by PEFC and FSC, ensuring traceability to sustainable sources within a production model focused on efficiency and the responsible use of resources.
