ITA participates in GENERA Fair as a Key Player in Energy Transition
The Technological Institute of Aragón (ITA) is participating in the GENERA 2025 Fair, the International Fair of Energy and Environment, held at IFEMA Madrid until November 20. Its participation aims to strengthen its role as a key technological agent in the sustainable energy transition. For this occasion, engineers Ana Martínez (Business Development) and Claudio Rivetta (Sustainable Electrical Systems) traveled to the event.
ITA seeks to connect with companies, entities, and organizations in the energy and industrial sectors to establish collaborative alliances that promote innovation projects aimed at decarbonization, electrification of processes, and integration of renewable energies.
The institute particularly highlights its Zero Emissions Electric Systems Modeling and Emulation Laboratory, described as a real, controlled, and configurable environment that allows for the development and validation of solutions for electrical grids with high penetration of renewables and energy storage systems. This unique infrastructure of over 100 kVA integrates battery and hydrogen storage, wind and photovoltaic generation, and various loads (electric vehicles, motors, and emulated loads).
Claudio Héctor Rivetta delivered the presentation «Stability and Intelligent Management in Electrical Grids with High Penetration of Renewable Energy and Storage,» addressing the technological challenges of transitioning to more sustainable, digital, and decentralized electrical systems.
GENERA 2025 constitutes one of the most important professional gatherings in Spain and Southern Europe regarding renewable energies, energy efficiency, and sustainability technologies. It takes place alongside MATELEC 2025, forming the International Week of Electrification and Decarbonization.
The event brings together various stakeholders in the sector (companies, institutions, technological centers, universities, and public administrations) with objectives focused on system electrification, decarbonization of the economy, integration of renewables, energy storage, smart grids, sustainable mobility, and efficiency in industrial processes. It includes an exhibition area, technical sessions, conferences, and networking spaces for B2B meetings.
Interregional Alliance of Energy Clusters
The energy clusters from different autonomous communities are driving the Interregional Alliance of Energy Clusters of Spain, established on November 19 in Madrid during GENERA 2025. The initiative coordinates efforts towards an equitable energy transition, promoting innovation, interregional cooperation, and joint representation of the Spanish energy sector before national and international institutions.
