Economy, Employment and Competitiveness Councilor Eva Valle closed the eighth Aragón Automotive Night, highlighting the sector’s ability to anticipate technological and energy transformation. The Aragón Automotive Cluster gala honored companies, executives, and organizations for their innovation, sustainability, and contribution to Aragón’s industrial ecosystem.
Eva Valle highlights the strength of Aragón’s automotive sector amid the energy transition
Valle defended the automotive sector’s “strong momentum” in Aragón and identified foresight as one of its companies’ main competitive advantages. She said the sector stands out for staying ahead of change, innovating, and adapting to a rapidly evolving industrial environment.
The councilor also underscored the strong position of Aragón’s industry in the face of the technological and energy revolution. In her view, the sector’s vision, together with initiative and pragmatism, makes it possible to turn that strategy into tangible projects for the region’s industry.
ASAI Industrial, Enganches Aragón, and Moontech receive CAAR innovation awards
ASAI Industrial, based in Pinseque, received the CAAR Innovation Award in the SME category for translating technological research into solutions applicable to real manufacturing challenges. The company has had its own R&D department since 2018 and works in collaborative robotics, 2D and 3D machine vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twins, sustainable additive manufacturing, and industrial cybersecurity.
The Product Innovation Award in electromobility went to Enganches Aragón, which is developing towing and electrical connection solutions during 2025 and 2026 for electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as for new European and Asian platforms. Its developments include Aragón Nexus, a CAN-BUS electronic kit that can be reprogrammed via NFC and has been marketed since 2026. The company employs 145 people, has annual capacity exceeding 150,000 tow hitches, operates in more than 50 countries, and generated €30 million in revenue in 2025.
Moontech received the Industrial Process Innovation award for its ERIMS platform, developed entirely in Aragón. The tool integrates technologies from different manufacturers with factory management systems to improve automation, connectivity, and decision-making at production facilities. The company, which employs 15 people, has invested more than €2.2 million in R&D and innovation over the past five fiscal years.
Copo Zaragoza, Technopark Motorland, and executives honored at Automotive Night
Copo Zaragoza received the CAAR Corporate Sustainability Award in the large-company category for a model that combines industrial competitiveness with social responsibility. The recognition covers its work in training, work-life balance, equality, diversity, energy efficiency, the circular economy, waste management, carbon footprint reduction, sustainable mobility, water management, good governance, and smart transformation.
In the SME category, the sustainability award went to Technopark Motorland for the MotoStudent initiative, focused on training, employability, technological innovation, and low-emission mobility. Over its eight editions, the program has brought together more than 20,000 students, 450 university teams, and universities from more than 25 countries.
The CAAR Executive of the Year Award went to Stephan González of SMR Motherson, recognizing a career of more than 25 years in the automotive industry and his contribution to establishing Épila as the Southern European headquarters of the group’s exterior mirror division. The CAAR Aragón Industry Award went to Benito Tesier, under whose 13-year leadership the cluster strengthened business cooperation, technological innovation, and membership growth. Aragón Deputy President Mar Vaquero presented the award. In addition, Ibercaja y Fundación Ibercaja received a special distinction for their support of Aragón’s business community, coinciding with the institution’s 150th anniversary.
