Borja has inaugurated the Casa de la Música, the new cultural and training space located in the historic Palacio de los Alcañices following a complete rehabilitation. The initiative involved an investment of over 1.1 million euros, almost entirely financed by the Diputación de Zaragoza.
The project has allowed for the recovery of a building of great heritage value and its adaptation to the needs of the Municipal Music School, which until now had been operating in scattered and inadequate facilities. With the renovation, the building features spacious classrooms, rehearsal rooms, spaces for ensembles, and areas designated for complementary activities.
The intervention has respected the original structure of the palace while incorporating contemporary solutions to ensure accessibility, energy efficiency, and better acoustics. The result is a facility that combines heritage preservation with modern functionality.
During the inauguration, municipal and provincial officials emphasized that the Casa de la Música will become a cultural engine for the city, a meeting point for students, families, and associations, and a symbol of the commitment to revitalizing the historic center through cultural projects.
The renovation of the Palacio de los Alcañices adds to other initiatives promoted in the region to reinforce access to culture and support music schools, which are considered a key element for community life and the artistic training of young people.
