Camping San Jorge in Huesca has been upgraded to a three-star category following a series of strategic investments and the receipt of a favorable report. This change, officially registered in the Aragon Tourism Registry, has also allowed for the legalization and commercialization of the existing bungalow at the campsite.
Official Recognition and Significant Improvements
On January 2, 2026, the mayor of Huesca, Lorena Orduna, along with the tourism councilor, Nuria Mur, participated in an event to unveil the new plaque identifying Camping San Jorge as a three-star establishment. This event marked a milestone in the region’s tourism development.
The improvements that made this reclassification possible include the adaptation of a neutral bathroom, the incorporation of a generator, and the establishment of an area with barbecues and picnic tables. Additionally, a shop area was installed within the camping bar. These investments, totaling approximately €40,000, did not alter the campsite’s capacity, which continues to offer 240 spots distributed across 60 parcels.
Future Projections and Collaborations
During the event, Mayor Orduna announced that the Huesca City Council, in collaboration with the Aragon Government, will continue to invest in the camping site. Future plans include extending the camping season, which currently operates from June to September, with the aim of offering tourism services for more months of the year.
These initiatives seek not only to improve the campsite’s infrastructure but also to enhance the tourist appeal of Huesca, contributing to the economic and social development of the region.
