The Government of Aragon has announced the awarding of supplementary scholarships to the Erasmus+ Program for the academic year 2025-2026, benefiting 296 university students. These grants aim to facilitate the international mobility of young Aragonese, removing economic barriers that may prevent their participation in study programs abroad.
Boosting international mobility from Aragon
The supplementary scholarships are designed to enhance the international dimension of Aragonese universities, supporting students who wish to pursue part of their studies abroad. These grants not only complement the well-known Erasmus+ Program but also extend to other international mobility programs, ensuring broad coverage for students in the Aragonese university system.
The main objective is to ensure that students have the opportunity to enrich their academic and personal education in an international context without economic obstacles being a hindrance. This approach seeks not only to improve educational quality but also to promote interculturality and global competence among young Aragonese.
Details of funding and distribution of aids
The amount of the grants is personalized, calculated based on the destination country and the duration of the stay. This approach allows the aid to be adjusted according to the specific cost of living in each country, ensuring an equitable and effective distribution of resources. Students heading to countries with a higher cost of living, such as Germany, France, or the United Kingdom, will receive 350 euros per month. For destinations with intermediate living costs, such as Portugal or Slovenia, the aid will be 300 euros per month. Finally, for more economical destinations like Poland or Romania, 250 euros per month will be allocated.
The total amount allocated to these scholarships is 600,000 euros. The payment modality is structured to facilitate the financial management of students: up to 50% of the scholarship is provided in advance, allowing beneficiaries to have sufficient resources before completing and justifying their stay abroad.
Impact and expectations for the future
These supplementary scholarships represent a commitment from the Government of Aragon to international education and equity in access to training opportunities. By supporting 296 students, it is anticipated that their academic experience will not only improve but also strengthen the international ties of Aragonese universities.
In an increasingly interconnected global context, these initiatives are fundamental to preparing young people for the challenges of the future, promoting inclusive and quality education that transcends borders. The continuity and expansion of these aids will be key to maintaining the dynamism and competitiveness of the Aragonese educational system in the international arena.
