Gastronomy Academies Discover the Culinary Excellence of Aragon in Huesca
From October 2 to 4, 2025, the General Directorate of Tourism and Hospitality of the Government of Aragon organized a meeting with the presidents of the Gastronomy Academies of Spain. The initiative aimed to showcase the culinary richness of Aragon and the latest developments in the gastronomic sector.
The event was organized by the General Directorate of Tourism and Hospitality of the Government of Aragon in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Huesca, the City Council of Huesca, and the Aragonese Academy of Gastronomy. Over three days, participants engaged in a comprehensive program of professional, cultural, and enogastronomic experiences focused on the province of Huesca.
Activities included a roundtable at the Culinary Innovation Center, a visit to the workshop of Pastelerías Ascaso with tastings, a tour of the historic center of Huesca, and special menus at renowned restaurants such as Lillas Pastia, awarded a Michelin star, and El Origen. A highlight was the visit to the Sommos winery, part of the Somontano Wine Route, where participants learned about the diversity and quality of the wines of this Denomination of Origin through a specialized tasting.
The program concluded with a visit to the San Juan de la Peña monastery and an experience at La Borda de Pastores in Sabiñánigo, where the value of livestock farming, locally sourced products, and respect for the territory were emphasized.
With this initiative, Aragon reinforces its position as a leading enogastronomic reference, highlighting the quality and diversity of its cuisine and agri-food products, the talent of its professionals, and the commitment to a model where tradition and innovation coexist to project the culinary identity of Aragon.
