Zaragoza continues to captivate top content creators from China. This time, we spoke with DanDanZhu, an influencer from Tianjin with over a million followers across her social media platforms. Specializing in food and travel, DanDanZhu shares how Zaragoza has exceeded her expectations and why it has become a destination she will recommend to all her fans.
GoAragon: Welcome to Zaragoza. Tell us a bit about yourself and your content.
DanDanZhu: Hello! My name is DanDanZhu, I’m from Tianjin, China, and I create content focused on food and travel. Through my channels, I share my experiences around the world with my community, which sums up to about a million followers across China.
GoAragon: We know you came looking for the best in gastronomy. What brought you to Aragón?
DanDanZhu: As a food creator, I am interested not only in food but also in wine. I was already familiar with Garnacha and knew that its origin is here in Aragón. One of my big wishes was to visit the birthplace of this special grape. It has been an honor to firsthand experience the origin of Garnacha.
GoAragon: And what do you think of the local food?
DanDanZhu: For Chinese people, tapas are the favorite food when we visit Spain. Here in Zaragoza, every time we’ve eaten, we have been able to enjoy this characteristic element. We have also been very attracted to the lamb and the ham from the region; everything is delicious. Each city in Spain has its own ingredients and gastronomic charm, and Zaragoza is no exception. We loved discovering its cheeses, its olive oil… flavors that really align well with the Chinese palate.
GoAragon: Beyond gastronomy, what would you recommend to Chinese tourists visiting the city?
DanDanZhu: If you are traveling through Spain and have already visited Madrid or Barcelona, I think Aragón, particularly Zaragoza, should be your next must-visit stop. I would recommend spending two or three days here. It’s a city with a great concentration of attractions. Everything is very central: the old town, historical points of interest, and small restaurants and shops are within walking distance. For tourists, this is ideal because it’s a very relaxing city and easy to explore on foot. In fact, we really enjoy the concept of «City Walk,» taking our time strolling through the city, and Zaragoza is perfect for that.
GoAragon: We’ve noticed that you’ve paid attention to many details while walking through the streets. What has caught your eye the most?
DanDanZhu: Yes, while wandering around the city, we’ve discovered century-old shops that are wonderful, like chocolate shops, candy stores, and small traditional businesses… There’s so much Spanish essence. I also loved the graffiti and urban art found on many walls. On one hand, you feel like you’re in that traditional and authentic Spain that everyone imagines, and on the other, it’s a very «Instagrammable» place, perfect for today’s youth on social media.
GoAragon: After this experience, what message will you convey to your followers?
DanDanZhu: My intention is to recommend this city to all my followers in China. I hope they have the opportunity to visit such a beautiful place with such a rich history, which has produced so many great artists. I would love for people to include Zaragoza as a main destination in their travels, even to come specifically to visit it!
