Dragon Achieves Record Offer in Vocational Training with Over 600 Programs and 21 New Courses for the 2026-2027 Academic Year

The Government of Aragón has announced the consolidation and expansion of its Vocational Training (FP) system for the academic year 2026-2027, reaching a total of 171 degrees and over 600 training cycles distributed throughout the region. This historic offer, with the application deadline open until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, is expected to accommodate around 28,600 students. This figure indicates a significant change in the educational landscape of Aragón, more than doubling the estimated enrollments for high school, which hover around 13,000 students.

An Offer Designed for Market Demand

The main novelty for the upcoming academic year is the introduction of 21 new courses and the provision of 495 additional first-year places. The design of this new training framework responds directly to the needs of the business sector, both regional and international. Therefore, the Government has placed special emphasis on creating profiles linked to advanced industry, digitalization, and the management of data centers and cloud computing services.

Simultaneously, the new educational policies aim to address the structural shortage of technical professionals in so-called «traditional trades,» such as welding, metalworking, and the maintenance of refrigeration systems. According to data provided by the General Directorate of Planning, Centers, and FP, these specialties currently register employability levels ranging from 85% to 99%.

Distribution of the New Degrees

The new academic offerings span all educational levels to ensure a step-by-step access to the labor market:

  • Basic Degree: Five new training options, including specialties such as Office Informatics and Domestic Activities.

  • Intermediate Degree: Three new cycles, including Electromechanics of Machinery in the province of Huesca and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Installations in Zaragoza.

  • Higher Degree: Nine new qualifications aimed at high technical specialization, with a significant boost to Industrial Mechatronics in Utrillas and Zaragoza.

Additionally, the educational offer is complemented by four new technology specialization courses and the creation of four dual degree pathways. These routes allow students to obtain two official degrees in a period of three years, with a strategic focus on the hospitality and tourism sector in Teruel and Huesca.

Approaching Full Employment in the Dual Modality

Vocational Training in Aragón continues to stand out for its high employment rates compared to other academic pathways. Generally, the average percentage of graduates finding employment after completing their studies is over 86%.

However, the statistics show a qualitative leap in the Intensive Dual FP modality, where the employment rate skyrockets to 97.4%. In this format, the integration of companies and educational centers is so close that nearly all students end up being hired by the same companies where they carry out their practical training.

Admission and Enrollment Calendar

Individuals interested in accessing any Basic, Intermediate, or Higher degree cycle have until July 7 to submit their formal applications. After the technical assessment period and the corresponding appeals phase, the Administration will publish the provisional lists of admitted students on July 20, followed by the final lists on Friday, July 24.

Students who secure a place must complete their enrollment by 2:00 PM on Monday, July 27. To ensure optimal coverage of all vacancies in the public system, the Education Department has established additional allocation phases for improvements and waiting lists on July 29, September 2, and September 7.
