The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food of the Government of Aragón has announced a new funding line amounting to €500,000 to promote the differentiated quality of food products from the province of Teruel. The call for applications, financed through the Teruel Investment Fund (FITE), increases its budget by 66% compared to previous editions and will allow for the subsidization of up to 100% of eligible expenses.
The initiative aims to support projects that help increase the added value of Teruel’s agri-food products, enhancing their production, transformation, promotion, and marketing. According to the regional government, the measure seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of a sector closely linked to the territory and its figures of differentiated quality.
Support for Quality Food Labels
Eligibility for these funds is open to managing bodies of the differentiated quality labels regulated by the Aragón Food Quality Law, provided they have their registered office in the province of Teruel. Activities related to these labels include emblematic productions from the territory, such as truffle cultivation, as well as other foods protected by recognized designations and quality indications.
The call for applications introduces several new features compared to those for 2024 and 2025. Among these, the eligible actions and expenditures have been revised, along with the awarding system and evaluation criteria, with the aim of facilitating access for a greater number of beneficiary entities. The subsidies will be awarded through a simplified competitive bidding process and can cover up to 100% of the eligible costs, depending on the score obtained by each application.
Boosting Local Added Value
The Government of Aragón believes that differentiated quality labels play an important role in protecting products linked to the territory, reinforcing their recognition in markets and helping to retain added value in the production areas.
In the case of Teruel, these labels also contribute to the development of the agri-food fabric, the generation of economic activity, and the strengthening of the identity of products associated with the province.
Application Process
The deadline for submitting applications will be 15 business days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of Aragón (BOA). All documentation must be processed through the electronic headquarters of the Government of Aragón.
