The IAACC Pablo Serrano hosts an exhibition titled With the Degrees of Ash by Antonio Uriel. This exhibition is presented as a significant event in the cultural sphere.
The exhibition will be available from July 25 to September 28 in Room 00 of the IAACC Pablo Serrano. The monographic showcase of the Zaragoza-born photographer brings together unpublished works developed between 2019 and 2023.
With the Degrees of Ash: A Critical Perspective
The exhibition includes 45 photographs organized into seven internal sequences that address themes such as human relationships, pain, and memory. It is notable for integrating old negatives with recent images in a creative process. It uses montage as a memory device, merging different spaces and times. It offers a critical view on the use of photography in contemporary art, highlighting its semiotic connections.
The institutional leadership is marked by the recommendations of Julio Ramón, director of the IAACC, who supported the project for its alignment with the artist’s career at the museum. Additionally, Fernando Sarria, head of museums, emphasizes the recognition of photography as an artistic discipline.

He will soon present Vademécum Revisited at La Casa Amarilla.
