Expansion Works for CPI Valdespartera III Tendered for 6.2 Million
The Department of Education, Culture, and Sports of the Government of Aragón has tendered the works to expand CPI Valdespartera III with a secondary school building and an open gym. The investment exceeds 6.2 million euros, and companies can submit bids until October 8 at 2:00 PM.
Project Details and Bidding Process
The works include the construction of a secondary school building and an open gym for CPI Valdespartera III, located on El Jeque Blanco Street in Zaragoza. The announcement has been published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, with the deadline for bids set for October 8 at 2:00 PM.
The project aims to transform the current center from 12 kindergarten units and 24 primary units to 9 kindergarten units, 18 primary units, and 16 secondary units, adapting to the enrollment needs of the neighborhood and consolidating the center as a three-way institution.
Historical Development of the Educational Center
CPI Valdespartera III, which currently has over 900 students, began operations in 2018 with four routes of early childhood education (12 units), a cafeteria, a multipurpose room, and a playground. In 2019, the construction of 12 primary units was completed, and in September 2022, another 12 units for this educational level became operational.
For the last school year, three classrooms on the third floor were allocated for the already enrolled ESO groups at the center, leaving the interior of this floor unconditioned until the present expansion.
Details of the Expansion
The expansion of the existing school building will cover from the ground floor to the third floor, following the project developed by The Molino Proyectos. On the ground floor, a new exit to the playground will be created, along with a new access point with direct communication to El Mago de Oz Street, and the existing parking area will be expanded. Additionally, the library, a multipurpose area, secondary education administrative offices, concierge, and reprography services will be available.
The first and second floors will house multipurpose classrooms, a laboratory, and a technology classroom oriented to the north. The third floor will concentrate the teaching staff area with educational departments and a teachers’ lounge, connecting with the already constructed area that includes 3 classrooms of 60 m² each.
To expand the playground, part of the adjacent plot, separated by a pedestrian street, will be developed, where the open gym will be built.
The execution period will be 12 months once the works are awarded. During the expansion, the 5 prefabricated classrooms installed in the parking area for the current school year will be maintained. For the 26/27 school year, another 5 modular classrooms will be installed, which will be dismantled upon completion of the final infrastructure.
