The Huesca City Council launches a free comic workshop for children and young people
The Huesca City Council is launching a new edition of the comic workshop led by the renowned Aragonese illustrator Carlos Pérez «XCAR Malavida». The activity, which is fully subsidized, will take place over nine sessions in October and November at the Manuel Benito Moliner Cultural Center.

Instructor and methodology
The workshop will be taught by Carlos Pérez «XCAR Malavida», an illustrator and cartoonist from Zaragoza born in 1974, who has defined himself as a «stubborn and incorrigible caricaturist» since childhood. His extensive professional career includes the creation of comic books, illustrated books, comics, animations, websites, video games, television openings, advertisements, posters, t-shirts, logos, and album covers.
Among his most recent publications are the illustrated children’s book «Pepa Pera, la caca viajera» (Editorial Cornoque), «Ramiro de Aragón. Son, brother, and father of kings» with Sergio Miguel Longás (Caballeros de Exea), «The poet squirrel and her recipe book» with Pilimar Aguilar (Pregunta Ediciones), and the comic «Monsters, refrigerators, and hairpieces. The adventures of Paco Miko» (Editorial Cornoque).
Training content
The nine practical sessions will cover the basic concepts of character drawing, setting, expression, gesturality, onomatopoeias, storytelling, and scripting. Additionally, the editing, printing, and basic distribution process of a comic will be addressed. As a final objective, each participant will produce several complete pages…
Practical Information
Timetable and groups
The activity will take place every Wednesday in October and November at the Manuel Benito Moliner Cultural Center, with two groups differentiated by age:
- Children’s group: From 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM for participants up to 13 years old
- Youth group: From 6:40 PM to 8:00 PM for those over 13 years old
Slots and registrations
Each group will have 20 slots fully subsidized by the Huesca City Council. Participation requires the commitment to attend all workshop sessions punctually.
Registrations opened on September 1 and can be made through the online form available until full capacity is reached.
