Aragón presents the first Agro-food Awards recognizing sector excellence
The Government of Aragón held the gala for the I Agro-food Awards of Aragón on Tuesday at the Palacio de La Alfanca. The event recognized the trajectory, innovation, and commitment of six companies and entities that represent the diversity and strength of the Aragonese agro-food sector.
Institutional Participation and Economic Relevance
The president of the Government of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, concluded the event by emphasizing the importance of recognizing through these awards «an economic sector that generates more than 20,000 jobs in our Community, accounting for 11% of the wealth created.» Over 200 guests, including professionals, cooperatives, companies, and institutional representatives, attended the event.
The counselor of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, Javier Rincón, highlighted the significance of these awards: «With these awards, we recognize talent, effort, and innovation, and we reaffirm the Department’s commitment to continue supporting the agricultural sector throughout the entire value chain in the challenges ahead.»
The event is part of the Agro-food Plan of Aragón 2025-2028, the roadmap designed by the regional government to strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and consolidate the image of Alimentos de Aragón in Spain and international markets. The awards are intended to be an ongoing initiative, and the Department will open the call for new nominations for the 2026 edition starting the day after.
