The University of Zaragoza, in collaboration with the Princess of Girona Foundation and the Ibercaja Foundation, has launched the «Talent Generation at Unizar» program. This initiative aims to enhance the employability of university students through educational pathways that emphasize key competencies, entrepreneurship, and professional guidance.
Strategic Alliance for Competency Development
The alliance between the University of Zaragoza, the Princess of Girona Foundation, and the Ibercaja Foundation aims primarily to facilitate the acquisition of soft skills, which are in high demand in today’s labor market. In addition to the 10 students selected for this first edition, the remaining students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities of the program. This collaboration also integrates the University of Zaragoza into the network of universities within the «Talent Generation» program, promoted by the Ibercaja Foundation.
Educational Pathways with Academic Recognition
The program offers two educational pathways that allow for the recognition of university credits. The first pathway includes career mentoring, training sprints, and mobility activities, totaling 45 hours. The second pathway, lasting 40 hours, focuses on skills mentoring and technological experiences in leading companies. Both pathways are designed to grant ECTS credits to participants.
Focus on Key Competencies in a BANI Context
The «Talent Generation at Unizar» program centers on the development of competencies defined by the World Economic Forum, such as analytical thinking, resilience, creativity, and leadership, among others. These skills are essential for navigating the BANI (brittle, anxious, nonlinear, and incomprehensible) context of the current professional environment.
Financial Support and the Role of the Ibercaja Foundation
The Princess of Girona Foundation will provide financial assistance to cover travel expenses related to program activities. The Ibercaja Foundation, as a patron of the Princess of Girona Foundation, has been pivotal in incorporating the University of Zaragoza into the program and actively participates in professional mentoring. Furthermore, the Ibercaja Foundation Campus has become a development hub for the program, offering technological experiences and events such as the Tech Experience in October.
Assessments and Program Presentation
The involved institutions highlight the importance of this alliance to enrich the education of young people. At the program’s presentation, current and former students participated, along with Magda Teruel from Microsoft, emphasizing the positive impact of these initiatives on the professional development of young individuals.
