The Horeca Awards have successfully concluded a new edition, highlighting the participation of more than 40 restaurants from Zaragoza and its province. This event, which took place from February 12 to March 15, 2026, will culminate in a gala on March 23 at the Zaragoza Auditorium, where the winners will be announced and the renowned chef Ferran Adrià will be present.
A unique format that celebrates gastronomy
The initiative of the Horeca Awards brought together more than 40 restaurants, which offered tasting menus for over a month. This format, described as unique in Spain, allowed both restaurants and the public to enjoy one of the most anticipated culinary events of the year. The active participation of the establishments and the public’s interest reflect the success of this gastronomic proposal.
The event stands out not only for its format but also for its ability to unite different stakeholders in the sector. According to José María Lasheras, president of Horeca Restaurantes Zaragoza, this celebration is «the festival of gastronomy to celebrate what unites us, to appreciate the immense work of professionals, and to highlight culinary talent.»
A gala with a taste of art and creativity
The awards gala, which will take place on March 23, will feature representatives from the sector, as well as political, economic, and social agents. In addition, the Aragonese company Teatro Che y Moche will present a scenic-musical performance, whose concept of «flavor made art» will be the common thread of the night. This approach responds to the recent recognition of Zaragoza as a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO.
Among the awards to be presented are categories such as Best 40-Euro Menu, Best 60-Euro Menu, and Best Restaurant in the province of Zaragoza. The tapa that will represent Horeca Restaurantes Zaragoza at the Official Hospitality Championship of Spain – Tapas and Pinchos, which will be held at Madrid Fusión 2027, will also be selected.
Ferran Adrià and the boost to training
Ferran Adrià, in addition to attending the gala, will participate in the ‘Intensive Course in Restaurant Management’, organized by CaixaBank and elBullifoundation in collaboration with Horeca Zaragoza. This course will take place until March 25 at the Hiberus Hotel of the Palafox Group and represents a unique opportunity for professionals in the sector to improve their management skills.
This edition of the Horeca Awards has received support from public and private institutions, including the Government of Aragon, the City Council of Zaragoza, tourism organizations, and companies such as CaixaBank, Coca-Cola, and Repsol. This backing solidifies the Horeca Awards as a relevant event in the region’s gastronomic sector, highlighting its positive impact on the promotion of local gastronomy and the recognition of culinary talent.
