Aragón raises 2027 housing budget by 45%

The investment planned for 2027 is part of the regional government’s housing policy, centered on the development of the Aragón More Housing Plan. The program has a budget of €400 million.

According to figures presented during the appearance, Aragón currently ranks first among Spain’s autonomous communities in public housing and third in subsidized housing.

The Aragón More Housing Plan aims to promote 7,000 public homes

The Government of Aragón has already promoted 3,600 public homes under the plan, tailored to the needs and characteristics of each municipality. More than 1,000 homes of these will be delivered in early 2027.

In addition, the regional government is working on another 3,400 homes to reach the target of 7,000 public homes promoted by the end of the legislative term. The goal calls for an average of 1,000 homes per year.

Subsidized housing will have longer protection periods as Aragón streamlines urban planning

The regional government plans to amend the housing protection regime. Subsidized developments promoted by the Government of Aragón will retain this designation permanently, while those developed through private initiative will receive protection for 75 years, compared with the current 30 years.

An amendment to the Aragón Urban Planning Law is also planned to streamline urban-planning procedures, as part of a broader set of measures linked to the budget increase and expansion of the public housing stock.
