The Ibercaja Foundation celebrates its 150th anniversary with a special edition of the program Educating for the Future, which also commemorates 15 years of existence. This event has been a reference in the educational field since its inception in 2012 and will begin on February 11 with a conference by the renowned expert Víctor Küppers, under the theme «What is coming starts with you.»
Since its creation, «Educating for the Future» has gathered more than 55,000 participants in over 300 activities, with the collaboration of 232 speakers. This program has been a source of inspiration and learning for educators and education professionals, establishing itself as an essential event on the educational calendar.
The program’s focus has been to provide tools and knowledge that promote educational innovation, adapting to the changes and challenges of the sector. This year’s special edition aims to reaffirm its commitment to quality education and pedagogical transformation.
Conversations for the Future
In this edition, the program introduces an innovative format with 15 conversations among experts that will address the current challenges in educational innovation. During the first semester, from February to May, seven of these conversations will take place in the iconic Patio de la Infanta.
The inaugural conference will be led by Víctor Küppers on February 11, followed by other distinguished experts such as Héctor Ruiz and Marta Portera on March 12, who will discuss memory and learning. On March 16, José María Bautista and Rosa Casafont will analyze the evolution of the brain, while Nuria Sánchez and Fabricio Ballarini will explore the emotional bond in learning on March 26.
In April and May, Carmen Pellicer and Carlos Magro, as well as Neus Sanmartí and Carles Monereo, will continue to analyze the current challenges of the school and educational assessment, respectively. Additionally, Alicia Bastos and Miriam Reyes will address learning difficulties on a date yet to be determined. Activities will resume in September with the participation of experts such as Heike Freire, Rafael Bisquerra, and Mar Romera.
Initiatives and Recognition
In addition to the conversations, the Ibercaja Foundation will launch the podcast «Beyond the Classrooms» in March, providing content and debates of interest for the educational field. This initiative aims to extend the reach of the program and offer additional resources to educators.
«Educating for the Future» is recognized and accredited by the Government of Aragon in terms of permanent training credits for teachers. The Ibercaja Foundation continues its mission to inspire educators to face current educational challenges, promoting the necessary educational transformation to respond to the demands of learning, innovation, technology, and pedagogy.
