Aragón has achieved a new tourism record in 2025, consolidating its position as an attractive destination in Spain. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, both the number of travelers and the duration of stays have experienced a significant increase, reflecting a positive trend in the tourism sector of the community.
Increase in Travelers and Overnight Stays
In 2025, Aragón registered a total of 4,077,429 travelers, which represents an increase of 1.46% compared to the 4,018,874 travelers from the previous year. This growth is complemented by a notable rise in the number of overnight stays, which reached 8,988,039, a 3.74% increase from the 8,664,387 recorded in 2024. This disproportionate growth between travelers and overnight stays suggests an improvement in the quality of tourism, with longer stays benefiting the sector.
Composition and Diversification of Accommodations
The hotel sector remains the cornerstone of accommodation in Aragón, accounting for the majority of travelers and overnight stays. However, the year 2025 was marked by the growth of other forms of accommodation, especially hostels, which were the category with the greatest expansion. Additionally, the community has 4,209 Tourist Use Homes (VUT), primarily concentrated in the Aragonese Pyrenees, whose occupancy is not included in the official statistics but represents an important part of the tourism landscape.
Desseasonalization and Temporal Evolution
April was a standout month thanks to the impact of Holy Week, with a surge of 335,043 travelers. August, on the other hand, saw the peak of tourist activity with 577,668 travelers and 1.5 million overnight stays, representing 14.17% and 16.66% of the annual total, respectively. The trend towards desseasonalization became evident in September and October, months in which more than 385,000 and 342,000 travelers were recorded, respectively. This pattern suggests that Aragón is managing to maintain a steady flow of tourists throughout the year, with no month accounting for less than 5% of the annual total.
