Ibercaja presents a complete Christmas program with concerts, creative workshops, and charitable initiatives
Ibercaja celebrates Christmas with a wide range of activities aimed at all audiences, taking place in various locations around the city: Plaza Ibercaja, Espacio Xplora, the Xcaparate on Paseo de la Constitución, and the exhibition area at the bank’s headquarters. The program includes, for the first time, the illumination of Plaza Ibercaja and concerts featuring local Zaragoza artists, in addition to continuing traditional activities and reinforcing its commitment to charitable initiatives.
Plaza Ibercaja will host concerts at 6:30 PM with the following groups: Lady Banana (December 20), Erin Memento (December 21), Delacueva (December 27), Rada Mancy (December 28), Orión (January 3), and Eva McBel (January 4). The artists will participate in meet-and-greet sessions with Fran Ropero, co-director of «El Fantasma,» at 12:00 PM in Espacio Xplora, sharing their creative processes and their connection with Zaragoza. Attendance at the meet-and-greet sessions requires prior registration and is free of charge.
Workshops and activities at Espacio Xplora
Themed workshops tailored by age have been scheduled: for children aged 4 to 10 («A Very Sweet Christmas,» «Family Christmas Circus,» «Invent a Christmas Story with AI,» and «Design Your Christmas Ornaments»); for teenagers aged 11 to 15 («Capture the Magic of Christmas with Your Mobile»); and for adults («Create Your Christmas Wreath» and «Create Your Centerpiece»). All activities are free until capacity is reached, with reservations available through the Ibercaja website.
An interactive screen experience will also be available, allowing visitors to become the Three Wise Men or Christmas characters.
Mailbox services for letters to the Three Wise Men and special passes with the representative of Their Majesties from the East will be offered on specific dates: December 22, 24, 27, and 31, plus January 5 (11:00 AM to 2:00 PM); and December 23, 26, 29, and 30, plus January 2 (11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM).
Artistic Nativity Scene and Exhibitions
Espacio Ibercaja Xplora will host the Nativity Scene created by the Friends of the Nativity Scene Association of Zaragoza (visible until January 6) which temporarily replaces Ibercaja’s traditional Nativity Scene currently under restoration. The installation measures 15.75 square meters and includes a corral, ten buildings, two arches, a tunnel arch, and a fountain with water. The figures were crafted by artisans from Barcelona, Jerez de la Frontera-Cádiz, and Bollullos Par del Condado-Huelva.
The exhibition is complemented by eight dioramas of biblical scenes and a large Christmas tree displayed in the Xcaparate Area (Monday to Friday, non-holidays, from 8:15 AM to 2:00 PM).
On December 19 at 11:30 AM, the traditional concert of the Infanticos del Pilar will be held, organized by the Ibercaja Foundation for over 30 years in collaboration with the Colegio–Escolanía de Infantes del Pilar. On December 22, the Christmas Gala will take place, an exclusive event for the children of employees who won the drawing contest.
Ibercaja serves as the official sponsor of the Zaragoza City Council’s Christmas activities: the Three Kings Parade, the Nativity Scene in Plaza del Pilar, and performances at the Teatro Principal (The Snow Queen, The Monster Calls, and Tarzan). They also sell tickets for events at the Teatro del Mercado, Auditorio de Zaragoza Princess Leonor, Palacio de Congresos Expo, and Naturaleza Encendida at Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta. In Madrid, they sponsor the Magical Christmas Park.
