Ibercaja Foundation resumes its Cinema Box cycle with four screenings dedicated to the most iconic couples in film
Following the success of its first edition, the Ibercaja Foundation is reopening its film cycle Cinema Box this September, focusing on the most memorable couples on the big screen. The sessions, which will run until December, will be led by film critic Enrique Abenia and will take place at the Patio de la Infanta with free entry upon prior registration.
Highlighted screenings of the film cycle
The cycle includes four carefully selected feature films that represent different eras and styles of the seventh art. The programming will kick off on September 8 at 6:30 PM with Charade (1963), directed by Stanley Donen and starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, a production that blends suspense, romance, and comedy.
The second screening will take place on October 31 with A Rainy Day in New York by Woody Allen, starring Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning. This session will feature a special appearance by Carlos Marañón, director of Cinemanía.
On November 3, it will be time for The Artist, the French film by Michel Hazanavicius that won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director, and Actor. Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo star in this 2011 production that pays tribute to the origins of silent cinema.
Grand finale with Linklater’s trilogy
The cycle will conclude on December 3 with Before Midnight, the third film of the iconic trilogy directed by Richard Linklater and starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. This film wraps up the saga that began in 1995, following the evolution of the relationship between Jesse and Celine across different decades and European cities.
The Ibercaja Foundation has confirmed that it will continue with new editions of Cinema Box starting in January, with a fresh selection of must-see titles from cinematic history. All screenings require prior registration through the foundation’s website.
