Inflation in Aragón stands at 3.2% annually in September 2025, accelerating by six tenths compared to the previous month, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE). At the national level, the rate is at 3.0%, three tenths above the previous month.
The main factor behind this trend was a decrease in fuel prices and a less intense reduction in electricity compared to September last year. Brent crude oil prices averaged $68.0 per barrel in September 2025, slightly up by 0.1% from August but down 8.2% from a year earlier. Natural gas TTF recorded an average price of €32.3 per MWh, which is 1.1% lower than in August and 10.7% lower than in September 2024.
Core inflation, which excludes unprocessed food and energy products, accelerated by two tenths in Aragón to reach 2.5% annually in September. In the whole of Spain, this rate maintained at 2.4% annually for the second consecutive month. In the eurozone, overall inflation reached 2.2% annually in September, two tenths above the previous month, while core inflation stood at 2.4% annually. The inflation differential with the Monetary Union was unfavorable by one percentage point for Aragón and by eight tenths for Spain.

Highest Annual Increases in Aragón
The housing group recorded the highest inflation rate at 8.1% annually due to the behavior of electricity prices. This was followed by Hotels, cafés, and restaurants at 5.4% annually, Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.8% annually), Other goods and services (3.0% annually), and Education (2.9% annually). Moderate rates were observed in Food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.3% annually), Transport (2.0% annually), and Medicine (1.6% annually). The weakest rates corresponded to Communications (0.9% annually), Household items (0.8% annually), and Leisure and culture (0.7% annually). Only the prices of Clothing and footwear decreased, with a drop of 1.4% annually.
Monthly Variation
Compared to the previous month, prices dropped by an average of 0.3% in Aragón. The most notable declines were in Leisure and culture (4.1% monthly) due to the end of the high summer season, Transport (0.5% monthly), and Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.3% monthly). Conversely, prices increased in Clothing and footwear (1.2% monthly) with the start of the autumn-winter season, Education (1.0% monthly), Hotels, cafés, and restaurants (0.7% monthly), Household items (0.2% monthly), and Medicine (0.1% monthly).
Provincial Data and Monetary Policy
By Aragonese provinces, the inflation rate in September 2025 was 3.4% annually in Huesca, 2.5% annually in Teruel, and 3.2% annually in Zaragoza. In the meeting on September 11, 2025, the Governing Council of the ECB kept the three official interest rates unchanged: the marginal deposit facility at 2.00%, the main refinancing operations rate at 2.15%, and the marginal lending facility at 2.40%. The ECB considers that inflation in the eurozone is in line with its target level and that it is appropriate to prolong the pause on rates, while it will continue to monitor risks.
