The Councilor for Economy, Competitiveness, and Employment of the Government of Aragon, Eva Valle, has reaffirmed the prevention of occupational risks as a priority in the region. During the Aragonese Council for Occupational Safety and Health, Valle highlighted the importance of collaboration between employers and unions to reduce workplace accidents.
Joint Commitment to Workplace Safety
Following her remarks at the Council, Eva Valle emphasized the need for a unified message to advance occupational risk prevention. The meeting included prominent figures such as Jesús Divassón, General Director of Labor, and Aitiziber Lanza, General Director of Public Health, among other representatives of social agents. This gathering underscores the crucial role of employers and unions in implementing effective measures.
The councilor also launched the third awareness campaign on occupational risk prevention, under the slogan “Between Life and Death, Prevention”. This initiative, unique in Spain for its backing from both unions and employers, aims to raise awareness of the importance of prevention.
Growth of the Aragonese Network of Healthy Companies
Valle noted the significant growth of the Aragonese Network of Healthy Companies, which has expanded from 54 to over 120 member companies from 2023 to 2026. This increase reflects the commitment of the Aragonese business community to labor well-being, regarded by the councilor as a key strategy for risk prevention.
Additionally, the publication of new regulations in July was announced, enabling social agents to develop actions related to occupational risk prevention, thereby reinforcing the Government of Aragon’s commitment to this cause.
Labor Inspection Actions in Response to Extreme Temperatures
During the meeting, data from labor inspections were presented, highlighting actions taken in relation to extreme temperatures. In June 2026, 445 inspections were conducted, of which 247 resulted in requirements to correct deficiencies. These figures account for nearly 70% of all inspections performed in 2025, emphasizing the efforts to improve working conditions in adverse situations.
