On August 1, 2026, the Monastery of Veruela will host one of the most anticipated concerts in the Veruela Estival series: the performance by Pancho Varona, an undisputed icon of Spanish music.
A musician, composer, and producer with over four decades of experience, Pancho Varona is well-known for being the right-hand man of Joaquín Sabina for many years. Together, they have created some of the greatest anthems in Spanish song, including Peces de Ciudad, Y sin embargo, and Princesa.
In addition to his close collaboration with Sabina, Varona has produced albums for Estopa and has composed songs for numerous top artists in the Spanish and Ibero-American music scene, including Ana Belén, Luz Casal, Joan Manuel Serrat, Pasión Vega, Miguel Ríos, Quique González, Christina Rosenvinge, Ana Torroja, Hombres G, and Amaral, among many others.
Despite his immense talent and career, Pancho Varona has always described himself as a “humble genius,” comfortable in the background, allowing the spotlight to shine on the main artists.
An Intimate and Special Concert
On his Punto y seguido tour and in projects like Historias de canciones, Pancho Varona returns to the essentials: alone with his guitar and his voice. On stage, he shares the origins of his songs with warmth and emotion, recounting the anecdotes and stories behind each lyric and melody.
This intimate format creates a unique connection with the audience, turning each concert into a warm, personal, and magical experience.
