The Pirineos Sur 2025 festival has wrapped up its first weekend with performances by Ara Malikian and Maika Makovski, attracting an attendance of over 11,000 people in its initial four days. The organization views these figures positively, anticipating success in the upcoming days.
Notable Performances
Ara Malikian presented his new work Intruso during his third visit to the festival, showcasing a display of virtuosity on the violin and a strong connection with the audience. His performance concluded with Nana arrugada as he mingled among the crowd.
Maika Makovski made her debut with Bunker Rococó, blending her usual style with electronic elements and performing nearly the entire album.
Attendance and Context
The concerts of Los Tigres del Norte, Puro Relajo, Michael Kiwanuka, Natalia Lafourcade, and Toquinho filled out the initial lineup. Two dates have announced sellouts (July 10 and 19), while the concert by Manu Chao (July 16) is close to being sold out.
Upcoming Performances
Manu Chao will offer a two-hour acoustic concert on July 16, revisiting hits such as King of the bongo and Me gustas tú.
Confirmed artists include Amaia (July 19), Valeria Castro (July 19), Viva Suecia (July 20), and Juanjo Bona (July 18).
The organization highlights the positive initial results and anticipates further success with performances by artists such as Residente, Julieta Venegas, and Ben Harper in the coming days.
